Mind Mapping… Sometimes, these two words make people laugh, afraid and even, in some cases, they can spark off the interest. In my case, I first met with “Mind mapping” thanks to a coworker of mine, whom used it to show graphically the inputs / outputs of a PDM software. That sparked me off!! Two days after, I was in a book library looking for some documentation I should read before running into any of the mind mapping software (whatever it is: freemind, mind manager…)

This is where everything started… From there and nowadays, my first advice to anyone who wants to do mind mapping is:
“First of all, if you are interested by Mind Mapping, start by not doing any mind map into any kind of tool! Start by reading this book: “Organisez vos idées avec le Mind Mapping” de Frédéric Le Bihan (DUNOD édition – for the french reader) or “Mindmapping: Your Personal Guide to Exploring Creativity and Problem-Solving” (Paperback) by Joyce Wycoff. Or any book that will explain to you the concepts that are behind mind mapping and how to use it efficiently, otherwise, you are going to mind map for 15 days, and when you first map will be complex enough to get you lost, you will let it down for ever…”, which will be sad.
