My 40 Years of Mind Mapping

John Bothams shares his long and winding journey with mind mapping tools and techniques in this Member Story interview! From his own early years working in chemical research and manufacturing, through to his Covid-era support of young students with exam preparation, mind mapping has been an ever-evolving constant in John's life. Through is own studies in the 1980s, John began experimenting with basic mind maps to illustrate concepts and complexity, before the arrival of mind mapping software in the 1990s that moved these techniques more firmly into his daily working and explorations in "Action Learning". John shares his belief that mind mapping should be "caught not taught", and how his work in the 2000s saw numerous struggling school pupils improve and excel thanks to mind mapping techniques.
