This is a mind map for coaches and psychologists who work on behavioural change. As you might not be familiar with this method, I will explain how I use it. Mainly I use it in traffic psychology courses. These participants have lost their driving licence due to drink or drug driving or too many points. We use this template to gather situations in which the participants have drank in the past. Then we collect the thoughts that have gone through their minds when they think of this situation. The next step is to think of emotions that arose and then the follow up behaviour. Last, but not least the participants think of consequences that might or have occurred. Try to find some which are severe like an accident, death or prision. In Germany, where I live people who drank and drove to prison when they have killed someone. Then at the end you explain the STOP and come back to the situations. You explain that this STOP should stop them from drinking or taking drugs again… 06/02/2026: Today, I used this mind map on a Whiteboard and we worked with the template live in a group. (Sorry, the mind map is in German as I am located in Germany.) I planned to upload an image, but I had to realise that it is not possible.
