DogMe is a communicative approach to language teaching that encourages teaching without published textbooks and focuses instead on conversational communication among learners and teachers. It has its roots in an article by the language educator Scott Thornbury. Dogme is a teaching philosophy, it goes beyond standard pedagogical methods that we are often used to hearing about. The thinking behind it is that the student will learn when they feel involved and interested in the subject. This mind map shows all ten key principles, of which three stand out 1. Teaching is conversational driven, 2.Teaching is material light and 3. Teaching focuses on emergent language.
